A new video, funded by the U.S. soybean industry, takes us behind the scenes to what could become the beginning of a "green" fish-farming revolution.
The striped bass raised in these net pens were hatched by Professional Aquaculture and raised by Freshwater Fish Farms in Central California. .They were then acclimated to salt water in transit to the Hubbs hatchery. The fish were grown to a larger size at the hatchery and then moved to the net pens. This strain of striped bass, the Chico Strain was developed by Tony Vaught of Professional Aquaculture. He was the first to domesticate these wild striped bass from the Sacramento River.
